Wilkins: Bakayoko Potentially Have a Good Future
Chelsea soccer legend Ray Wilkins rate Tiemoue Bakayoko could be a great footballer in the future.
Previously, the Blues want to bring the retainer of the French national team because his performance with Monaco last season is really impressive where in addition to good looks, the player is also able to give the title of Ligue 1 under the direction of Leonardo Jardim.
However, the joining of the 23-year-old player to Stamford Bridge is little doubt to replace the role of Nemanja Matic who decided to leave to Manchester United. Even Ray himself was not sure before with Bakayoko. But after the player was able to score in a 2-1 defeat over Crystal Palace last weekend the legend predicted ahead Timeoue had a bright future.
Even so, but the 61-year-old man is still assessing the West London club squad that exist today has not been so satisfactory. Proven in the English Premier League championship last season had to give up 3-2 against Burnley and last weekend a shocking surprise from the basic team standings The Eagles.
“If I’m honest I think his squad is weaker this season,” Ray Wilkins told the media.
“We have replaced Nemanja Matic with Bakayoko. I think in the coming years he will be a great player because he has that stature and ability.
“Matic knows that and knows exactly how to play in that position and I think Bakayoko can still grow in such a situation.”
While the absence of Alvaro Morata due to injury and the departure of Diego Costa to Atletico Madrid then Wilkins fully believes now Chelsea depends on Michy Batshuayi in the affairs of scoring both in the Premier League and also the Champions League.
“Morata has done very well on the front lines, but for me he is not Diego Costa,” Wilkins continued.
“Now we have lost for a while because of injury dimna we have to depend on Batshuayi.
“He must be an important player in Chelsea’s front line.”
